In Leighton Linslade many people will have heard the name Rotary and are probably aware that we organise a number of the towns community events many are not aware we are also a social club meeting weekly to share a meal with a guest speaker or to meet at a pub with partners.

We are proud of our town, its history and the fact it has not lost its identity in our busy world. Through our community activities we are helping to promote togetherness and helping people have fun. The success of our activities raises significant funds to support the wider local community and international projects.

Today some of our activities have grown into major events with The May Fayre, Bonfire & Fireworks and Carols in the High Street attracting vast crowds. Our Santa Float travels the town for all of December and is eagerly welcomed by crowds of young children and their families. These events are only possible because of the support provided by the many other community groups in our town supporting us by providing many helpers.

We also challenge the town with our successful Brains of Leighton Linslade evening quiz and reach out to students with our Youth Speaks public speaking competition.

In between our activities we also support other groups by shaking a tin or organising a car park or by liaising with our local Town council on projects such as the provision of defibrillators and the organisation of other events.

The success of our many events has enabled us to fund many local activities ranging from the support of young people’s groups to local community groups. We recently completed a major project to support the local branch of the NSPCC and are supporting the training of Neave for Dogs for Good. This year’s major project is to support MS Chiltern. Internationally we support Rotary Foundation and local charity LEOT with their community education programme in Laos.

We welcome applications from all local community groups in Leighton Linslade to learn more please contact us.
