2026 Rotary/Yes We Can Oscars
The annual Rotary/ Yes We Can Oscars recognise stunning sporting achievements throughout the past twelve months for all the inclusive sports participants, supported by a wonderful group of coaches, parents and carers.
With over 20 trophies presented and medals for participants in every sport plus of course tea and cake it’s the highlight of the programs year and fell this year on its 9th birthday.
This year the participants were joined by Deputy Lieutenant Mark Ormerod, Mayor Kevin Pugh, District Rotary Governor Kendal Pitt, Sports Council Chair David Bligh and Laura & Jeanette from Everyone Active at the new leisure centre who all presented awards along with local Rotary President Henry Garthwaite and special guest Colin Creasey from the local Uki Tunes Band.
Richard Johnson OBE chair of the Rotary/ Yes We Can program said:
“The Rotary/ Yes We Can Oscars are always a fabulous celebration of our inclusion sports stars and the atmosphere this year was no different with fun, laughter and of course the now traditional rendition of Sweet Caroline. We are incredibly grateful to all those who support this unique event, particularly OMM Solicitors the main sponsor. Once again Leighton Linslade demonstrated that it leads the way in terms of inclusion sports stars in Bedfordshire “
