May Day Fayre nets over £12,000

Rotary May Day Fayre in Leighton Linslade on May 1st was not just an entertainment success but also provided a significant boost to charitable funds with a surplus of over £12,000. The Rotary Club have after just 16 days already embarked on supporting a number of charities which impact the local community and there are others in the pipeline.

The Rotary Club of of Leighton Linslade were pleased to hear at its business meeting on May 15th that the 2023 May Day Fayre recorded a surplus in excess of £12,000 which means local charities will soon be benefiting from the clubs support. Indeed decisions were made at the meeting to make donations to MacMillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie and Prostate Cancer Support as well as support for the RAF Battle Britain Memorial Flight in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the Jubilee Fayre and the last two May Day Fayre’s, and of course continuing support to the towns food-banks.

We are delighted that the Fayre was both an Entertainment and Financial success with its benefit to the community being felt in various ways throughout the coming year.
