Animal Encounters

Leighton Linslade Rotary enjoyed a visit by Geoff from Animal Encounters yesterday. Among the animals Geoff brought in were snakes, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs and a tarantula. These were all safe to handle so as you can see from the video below, they were passed around members.

Lantern Parade

Leighton Linslade Rotary held its Carols on Christmas Eve event in Leighton Buzzard High Street. As part of this event we organised the Lantern Parade around the town centre. This video shows the parade of over 80 laterns.

Santas Magical £10,000 thanks to the Leighton Linslade community

Rotary are delighted to announce that as a result of Santas visits throughout December the club is immediately able to distribute £10,000 to local organisations. The visits of Santa in December 2025 to Leighton Linslade proved a massive success and as a result at its January business meeting Rotary were able, with Santa’s permission, to immediately distribute £10,150 to 27 local organisations. Defib Launch

Leighton Linslade Rotary launched their Defibrillator campaign last week. The launch took place outside the British Heart Foundation shop in Waterborne Walk. Collaboration delivers for local charities

Rotary Supports World Polio Day

“End Polio Now” is a global awareness and fundraising campaign by Rotary International to eradicate poliomyelitis, with World Polio Day being held annually on October 24th to mark progress and encourage continued efforts. Rotarians Marshall 10k Fun Run

Four members of the club volunteered to help marshall Leighton fun runners annual 10 k race on 7th September. A bright sunny day saw nearly 300 runners, fastest time under 47 minutes, and significant sums raised for the running clubs charity Beat Scad, a heart disease charity
