“End Polio Now” is a global awareness and fundraising campaign by Rotary International to eradicate poliomyelitis, with World Polio Day being held annually on October 24th to mark progress and encourage continued efforts. Four members of the club volunteered to help marshall Leighton fun runners annual 10 k race on 7th September. A bright sunny day saw nearly 300 runners, fastest time under 47 minutes, and significant sums raised for the running clubs charity Beat Scad, a heart disease charity

Leighton Linslade Rotarians enjoyed a wonderful social evening hosted by one of our members. We played Jenga, Boules, Connect-4 and a very strange game involving plastic hatchets. Food was provided by a mobile pizza van run by Lewis from the Shoulder Of Mutton, Little Horwood.
Once more Leighton Linslade Rotary were involved in the Carnival on Saturday. The weather was hot and Rotarians were involved in judging the floats, setting up barriers around the main ring, and marshalling traffic. Yes We Can is the Rotary-sponsored all-inclusive sports programme and we had a float in the carnival and a stall.
Sunday was a special day as the Club celebrated the last twelve months under President Steve Bigrave – thank you Steve – and he passed the baton onto incoming President Chris Roberts.
